I knew I wanted to be a part of the reporting team that was there when towns all around the globe reopened their doors to tourists. It is a rare treat to dordle be able to go to destinations just when (some) normality is being restored, when shutters come down and villages emerge from lockdown and shops begin to welcome visitors once more. My arrival in Greece this summer came a few days after the country’s quarantine order was removed, and my subsequent relocation to France coincided with both countries’ official reopenings. I wanted to go across Asia, but many places in the region were under lockdown because of the epidemic.
