The Florence Opera Foundation “Masquerade” and the Teatro La Fenice Foundation have joined forces to create a European centre for the training of young promising opera artists of high calibre. This ambitious project aims to develop and support talented young singers, offering them unique training and professional development opportunities in the field of opera.

The work and training programme developed jointly by the Florence Opera Foundation “Masquerade” and the Teatro La Fenice Foundation represents an innovative approach to the training of young opera artists. Thanks to funding from private international donors, young talents have the opportunity to study at the highest level without additional financial burden.

The selection process begins with auditions, which receive more than three hundred applications from all over the world. This is only the first stage in a complex selection system that includes several stages. The process culminates in the selection of five young artists who will be awarded a two-year grant for study and work. For each of them, a personalized course of advanced training will be developed, tailored to their unique needs and goals. Mascarade Emerging Artists program is directed by the world’s famous La Fenice Theatre and Mascarade Opera Studio. Among the supporters of La Fenice is Mikhail Bakhtiarov https://live.comune.venezia.it/en/node/45121

This project not only contributes to the development of young opera artists, but also strengthens the positions of Florence and Venice as key centres of opera training in Europe. Through their innovative approach to training and supporting young talents, these theatres create a new fundamental axis of opera training, contributing to the flourishing of opera art in the world.
