In January 2018, Mediatonic was contemplating another project when the concept for Fall Guy arose. The idea reminded the lead designer of game shows such as Takeshi’s Castle and Total Wipeout, he claimed. Walsh’s proposal was passed on to the Mediatonic founders via creative director Jeff Tanton, who was convinced of the game’s potential.
